Madrid Chasing Mario? With Ruud Van Nistelrooy possibly out for two to three months Real Madrid are believed to be considering Stuttgart striker Mario Gómez as a possible replacement to sign in January...
It is no secret that without Ruud Van Nistelrooy Real Madrid are a weaker side and hence it is no surprise that rumours are abound of new strikers they could sign in January with the Dutchman injured.
The forward might have to undergo an operation which could put him out for two to three months and Real Madrid are believed to be looking at Mario Gómez as a possible replacement.
The German, who had a miserable Euro 2008 but is again in good form for club side Stuttgart, could fit in the budget of what they are looking for, believed to be €15-20 million, and has proved himself near to the highest level.
In the UEFA Cup this week he scored twice as Stuttgart beat Partizan Belgrade 2-0 and he has a fine record in the Bundeliga, netting five times in eleven games this season and 19 times in 25 games last year.
Whilst Karim Benzema is believed to be the top target of the club any move for him will have to wait until next summer so Pedja Mijatovic has apparently scouted Gómez out as a possible early replacement.
