Atletico Madrid reject mega Torres offer from Chelsea

Chelsea have made a mega offer of £24 million plus Adrian Mutu for Atletico Madrid captain Fernando Torres.
AS says the bid was given short shrift by Atletico chiefs, with the reply: "The boy is not for sale".
Atletico are interested in Mutu, but as a strike-partner for Torres, not his replacement. It is the second time this season they have rejected a major bid from Chelsea for their marquee player.
Manchester United also had a bid of £26 million plus Diego Forlan turned down by Atletico over the summer.
Despite the impressive form of Eidur Gudjohnsen this season, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sees Torres as the long-term partner of exciting forward Didier Drogba and is expected to try again before the January market opens.
Että sellasta taas tuolta Chel$kin suunnalta.
